Finding Freedom

Finding-FreedomDear Friends,It was only a couple of weeks ago that my hometown of Nashville experienced a tornado that resulted in 26 fatalities and left many of our neighbors homeless and feeling hopeless. And now, here we are as a nation and world facing a pandemic that is affecting lives across the globe. While times like these can often leave people feeling scared and hopeless, living in despair and fear; I want to let you know that there is overwhelming joy and hope to be found amongst the uncertainties we are facing. As I’ve been settling into the new reality that we are facing as a world due to the coronavirus, I am continuing to meet each new day with gratitude. And, I’ve been thinking a lot about what a gift it is to be able to experience freedom. Not just the freedom to act, think and speak—but the inner freedom I feel in my heart and soul, the freedom I have to choose joy instead of despair, to choose faith over fear.Today, I’m wondering if you are experiencing inner freedom too? If you are experiencing this freedom, you know how deeply satisfying it is to not be emotionally shackled to feelings of fear or despair. But, maybe you are not experiencing this? Maybe you are feeling trapped or stuck in your emotions. Maybe you are feeling hopeless and wondering why things look so dark?Whether you know the sweet peace of inner freedom or if you are desperately seeking to live outside of fear and despair—I want to introduce you to some friends of mine. If you have a few moments to spare, please watch this video: https://vimeo.com/391089957

Every Monday morning for the past two years, I have helped facilitate a program called Academy of the Wild Ones. It is a nine-week program that helps incarcerated women in Nashville taste and savor the beauty of freedom while living behind prison bars. This video will take you into the world of darkness and powerfully reveal how much stronger the light is. I promise that no matter what you are feeling today, whether you’re afraid for your future or enjoying being home safe and sound on your couch, or if you are living behind the bars of despair—there is freedom to be found in every situation, in every place and in every season of life.Joyfully,Terry S.
