Real Hope!

Dear Friend of Coaching: Life Matters,I hope that this finds you and your loved ones safe and well. What a journey this year has been for all of us! Perhaps you’ve felt the same as me? I’ve experienced moments of great hopefulness and other moments of discouragement as I've navigated through this year.Regardless of what you’re feeling today, I’d like to share with you a quote that I always love remembering during periods of uncertainty in life:

“No matter what has been done to us in the past, and no matter how broken and confused it might have left us, the pearl of great price continues to shine within us—which no one can diminish or destroy.” —James Finley

This is so important for me to remember whenever I’m feeling discouraged in life. That no matter what the circumstances are, I can live above them as I focus on the joy and promise that is tied to believing in God’s unchanging love and care for me and you.As this year has impacted and caused major changes to businesses and nonprofits across the globe, I’d like to share with you some information that may be helpful as you consider your end-of-year giving. In an effort to encourage the continuation of charitable giving during these difficult times, the federal government passed The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act that provides the following options for charitable donations made before the end of 2020:

  • For individuals not itemizing on their federal income tax return, up to a $300 above-the-line deduction can be taken for cash gifts

  • For individuals itemizing on their federal income tax returns, the deduction limit for gifts of cash increases from 60% to 100% of adjusted gross income with a five-year carry-over.

As always, Coaching: Life Matters is grateful and honored to have your support and friendship.
