Coaching Life Matters

The purpose of this website is to accomplish three things:

  1. Help people become aware of their personal story and identify the origin and impact of their most influential beliefs
  2. Provide resources that will inform and support self-improvement
  3. Promote the idea that personal growth and healing are choices to be made and not chances to be taken

Coaching: Life Matters was founded in 2012 by Terry S. Smith, who holds a Doctorate in Personality, Religion, and Culture from Boston University, as a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit organization committed to removing barriers to personal growth and healing and promoting healthy relationships.

The center of Coaching: Life Matters’ work

Central to the mission of Coaching: Life Matters is training both lay and professional facilitators in the process of conducting a Core Story
interview. The Core Story process helps people become aware of their personal story and identify the origin and impact of their most influential beliefs. The Core Story process is a valuable tool in assisting individuals to identify previously unconscious, controlling beliefs involving security, esteem, and power that may be impeding the experience of well-being, the realization of optimum professional performance, and the establishment of relational integrity. The Core Story process has been effective in working with veterans experiencing PTSD, organizational
leaders, married couples, individuals in relational crisis, and prison inmates.

Providing fact-based, experience-based, and time-tested resources that support personal growth and healing are also part of the central mission of Coaching: Life Matters. Materials produced by this organization as well as by others is provided by reference, web links, as copy on this site, or through purchase from identified publishers. We believe that awareness becomes the first step in any movement towards more personal
